​Our mission is to promote awareness of and interest in Hindustani Classical, Bhajan and Bengali songs, concurrently exploring the history and traditions associated with these genres.

  1. Learning vocal music involves appreciation of sur (melody), taal (rhythm) and bhaav (emotion).
  2. Music is best learned with help from a Guru, through long term practice, repetition, self reflection and review.
  3. However, basic skills and appreciation of the grammar of vocal music can be achieved using short duration, theme focused, self-contained modules.​
  4. Study of melody, lyrics, performers and performance styles can promote cultural and historical awareness.
  5. While in-person lessons are ideal, in a world where we manage multiple responsibilities and within the new "Covid" reality, online lessons can help us continue training and riyaaz.
